Patrice Pike

An Austin favorite going back to her days playing Sixth Street with Sister Seven, Patrice Pike rose with that group to major-label deals and national prominence in the 90s. Since going solo, she has proven herself to be just as formidable a musical force on her own independent label, scoring a Top 10 most-added single at Triple AAA radio with Ms. Ramona, from her 2002 Fencing Under Fire CD. In 2004, her song My Three Wishes (co-written with Wayne Sutton, Darrell Phillips and Sean Phillips) won Grand Prize Overall and First Prize Rock in the USA Songwriting Competition; a second song of hers, Nobody Knows, finished Top 10 in the pop category. But Pikes greatest talent has no doubt always been her commanding stage presence, which RollingStone.com once likened to Tina Turner, Bessie Smith, Janis Joplin and Robert Plant, rolled into a tiny but explosive package. Expect all off that and more at Pikes 2006 ACL Festival appearance, which will no doubt also showcase songs from her long-awaited new album Unraveling.
